Secondary remedial summer school & academic support program
The Da Costa Hall summer school provides an opportunity for at-risk high school students to take remedial courses or to write supplemental exams to obtain the prerequisite credits to graduate from high-school.
The BANA and Da Costa Hall summer school programs have served more than 15,000 students, since its inception in 1968. Today, parents from all ethnicities seek our nurturing and culture-sensitive approach to the education of their children.
The Da Costa Hall Program
The DaCosta Hall program provides academic enrichment, remediation, and the opportunity to write supplemental exams necessary for graduation.
QBBE also offers tutoring as a way to supplement formal education. The main goal of the tutor is to provide support to the student and help them gain proficiency in the subject area.
Grades 7 to 9 students have access to the core course of Math, English, and French. Grade 9 History is also offered.
In grades 10 and 11, students can take bridge courses for upgrades in Math and Science, and they can write supplemental exams leading to graduation.

The Quebec Board of Black Educators (QBBE) is an organization founded in 1968 by a group of Educators from the Caribbean to address the cultural differences and challenges the immigrant children brought to the schools. The goal has been and still is to provide quality educational support and opportunities for English speaking black children and their families and lobbying with the School Boards and Government to eliminate the inequalities in education.
